 We live in a very rural and remote area so I have also found a driveway alarm SO useful.  Our road does not see a lot of traffic.  It gives me great peace of mind to have a warning chime go off in the house when a car pulls in our driveway.  We attached the sensor to our mailbox and the chime can be plugged in anywhere in your house.  This one in particular has excellent range.
